These past weeks have been very exciting and busy. As you all know we have been involved in the new church plant in Zipaquirá and the church continues to grow. We have also been helping a church in Bogota that went through a church split. Jose has been teaching the “peacemakers” material and it has been a very fruitful ministry. Please continue praying for this church as they choose a new pastor. We also added a new responsibility; we began helping our church in Tenjo (20 miles northwest of Bogota).
Alfredo Medina is the pastor of this church and his four-year-old son “Santiago” was diagnosed with Level 3 Hodgkin's disease. This cancer in the immune system is spreading very aggressively and the boy is going through chemotherapy. We offered our help and Jose began preaching there every Sunday six weeks ago. As you can imagine, this trial has taken a big emotional toll on this pastoral family and Alfredo accepted our help with joy. Please pray for them and for Santiago’s health. The church there in Tenjo is growing and we did a couple’s seminary and dinner last Sunday at our Camp in Tenjo and 27 couples attended. Many of them are not believers. Pastor Alfredo and his wife Juanita have been encouraged to see how God is blessing the church and their ministry despite all the difficulties that they have been going through as a fa-mily. There are new people joining the church almost every week and the last couple of Sundays the auditorium has been packed. We praise the Lord for these blessings!
